He has a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Controls and Dynamics
from Utah State University and is now working as a software engineer for a major
aersopace firm. His previous experience was at Ball Aerospace where he worked on
Orbital Express, a demonstration of on-orbit robotic servicing, and served as a flight
software engineer for the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC 3) portion of the Hubble Space
Telescope.
Jason Held Engineering Consultant
Jason was an Army Captain in Space Command, and has deployed all over the world to
support military space missions. He was a lead instructor at the Interservice Space
Fundamentals Course teaching satellite design theory, propulsion theory, and orbital
dynamics. Educated as a computer engineer, Jason worked hardware-software integration
on the Wide Field Camera 3 portion of the Hubble Space Telescope, as well as biomedical
engineering projects. He is currently in a PhD program in Aerospace Engineering and
Mechatronics at the University of Sydney in Australia. And if that's not enough,
Jason was crew commander for
FMARS, an Artic Research Station for simulating a manned mission to Mars.
